Introduction

The Program Logic Model is an important concept to understand and apply. Underpinning programs or projects with a Program Logic Model will improve program/project management and monitoring and lead to better results.

I have used this logic model to assist with program monitoring and evaluation. However, there are strong hidden benefits: first, the stakeholders gain a better understanding of their program – they know why things are happening; secondly, if a participatory approach is used to develop the program logic model the stakeholders will own the program and be more committed to its success. The model is fairly straight forward and stakeholders will quickly contribute.
